Apple Event Live Updates: Apple has launched its 5G enabled iPhone 12 smartphone. It has also launched the HomePod Mini smartspeaker.
And it has begun! Apple has started its ‘Hi, Speed’ event wherein the company is expected to launch its iPhone 12 series smartphones, including the iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max, along with the HomePods Mini smartspeaker.
This is the company’s second event this fall and it is being held virtually owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. Prior to this, Apple hosted an event on September 30 wherein the company launched the Apple Watch Series 6, Watch SE and Apple One among other things.

The iPhone 12 Pro starts at $999 and the iPhone 12 Pro Max starts at $1099.

Apple said that the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max will come with LiDAR sensors. This will improve the phone's AR capabilities and improve focus captured in low light conditions both in images and videos. It also improves depth in low-light images.

Apple said that the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max comes with HDR video recording feature. They also come with Dolby Vision HDR. Users will also be able to edit, share and capture videos in Dolby Vision HDR directly using their iPhone 12 Pro smartphones.

Reports hint that Apple's 12 series smartphones will come at a starting price of less than $700. Reports hint towards the iPhone 12 Mini and the iPhone 12 coming at a starting price of $649 and $749. The iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone Pro Max, on the other hand, are expected to start at $999 and $1099 respectively.

Apple's A14 chipset is better than Snapdragon 875, Exynos 1000 series
Apple's A14 chipset scored 1583 points on the single-core test which is roughly 18% higher than the A13. As per a GSM Arena report it is also ahead of the rumoured Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 and Exynos 1000 processors that achieved 1159 points and 1159 points respectively.

Apple is expected to launch four new iPhone 12 models at its event tonight. The top variant of the iPhone 12 series is expected to a 6.7-inch iPhone Pro Max.
