Apple HomePod Mini launch expected besides iPhone 12 series: Here’s the rumoured price, features
Prosser has tweeted that HomePod Mini will act as a UWB base-station. What this means is that the speaker might be able to track your location as you walk inside the house with other products that have the UI chip.
We have already talked about the four rumoured Apple iPhones 12 models that are expected to show up at today’s virtual event. We’re talking about the iPhone 12 or 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Max, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. But the iPhones might not be only products to see the light of the day. As per tipster Jon Prosser, the firm is also planning to launch HomePod Mini. Needless to say, it will be the more compact version of the original HomePod speaker that was announced backed in 2017. It also means that the device might be more ‘affordable’ too.
Prosser has tweeted that HomePod Mini will act as a UWB base-station. What this means is that the speaker might be able to track your location as you walk inside the house with other products that have the UI chip. It can also use the information for media controls, brightness or volume control and door locks. What’s added is that the rumoured HomePod Mini can be used in the Find My app to alert you if your devices have been moved within the house.
Talking to Apple Insider website, Prosser claims that HomePod Mini will be priced at $99. Although all the features might not be ready at the time of the unveiling. However, they may eventually arrive by the time the product reaches the shelves or maybe in future as software updates.
Apple’s ‘Hi, Speed’ event will begin at 10.30PM today. You can watch the iPhone 12 launch video from Apple’s own website or from YouTube as well.
