Diwali 2021: Snapchat Stickers, Bitmoji, Lenses released; here is how to spread joy
Diwali 2021 is right around the corner. Ahead of the festival of lights, new Snapchat stickers, Bitmoji, Lenses, cameos have been released to get users in the festive spirit and help them spread festive season joy to friends, family and colleagues.
“Last year, Indian Snapchatters viewed our Diwali AR experiences over 430M times and this year we have introduced a range of exciting creative tools for our community to engage with. This year, our theme for Diwali is about sharing your light for the world to see and we hope the immersive experiences that we have created will make this Diwali really special for you and your loved ones,” Durgesh Kaushik, Head of Market Development, Snap Inc, India, said on the occasion.
Snapchat said that on using its AR lenses, based on wishes and greetings, users’ screens will light-up with firecrackers that are in line with Diwali celebrations. The company said that Snapchatters will also get to experience a custom Diwali design to Snap Map that will include lanterns and fireworks.

The list doesn’t end there. In the run-up to Diwali, Snapchat will be launching new Bitmojis around popular Diwali delicacies along with custom Hindi Bitmoji Stickers. Snapchatters will have access to hyperlocal geo-filters across 20 cities in India to celebrate Diwali within local neighbourhoods, popular shopping streets, landmark locations and more.

In addition to all of this, the popular social media site has also introduced mini-occasion specific Lenses to celebrate all five days of Diwali- Bhai Dooj, Govardhan Puja, Dhanteras, and Chhoti Diwali. Snapchat also said that Snapchatters can also use a Diwali-themed version of the highly-popular Cartoon Lens.

Snapchat said that Snapchatters will also have access to a celebratory playlist called ‘Desi Music’ on Sounds, which would allow Snapchat users to add music to their Snaps.

The company has also introduced four special Diwali skins on its platform called “Color Together” that users will be able to play with.
