The accessory was able to get a few seconds on the screen before disappearing but did leave several fans and media talking about it.

Although Apple gave a lot of focus to its MagSafe wireless charging tech, which it brought back after years, a glimpse of a new tech was also showcased during the iPhone 12 launch event. We are talking about the MagSafe Duo. The accessory was able to get a few seconds on the screen before disappearing but did leave several fans and media talking about it. Besides those few seconds in the video, Apple has not mentioned anything about the MagSafe Duo anywhere in interviews or websites.

What is MagSafe Duo?

In simple terms, as Apple explained during the launch, MagSafe Duo are essentially two MagSafe wireless chargers that are attached together so they can be folded and carried along. The purpose of this device is to let you charge both your iPhone and Apple Watch. In case you don’t know, Apple Watch has already been using this tech since years to get charged.

How much does the MagSafe Duo cost?

Unfortunately, it looks like you have to wait for a bit to know about the pricing and availability details of this product. The company has not listed it anywhere on the website as well nor has it mentioned when it will arrive and in what countries.

Sounds a lot like Apple ‘AirPower’

For now, it does as Apple did the same with its AirPower wireless charging mat that it showcased at the event but never really brought it to the shelves. However, the probability of MagSafe Duo coming to end users is more as its single coil version, the typical MagSafe Charger is already listed on the website including India for 4,900. Since this is already available, it’s dual version might not be far behind.
