Cyberpunk 2077 gets Patch 1.2 update with hundreds of bug fixes

CD Projekt Red has rolled out a new update for Cyberpunk 2077. The update features hundreds of bug fixes. The studio said Patch 1.2 would be available for PC and consoles initially. It will also come to the Stadia version of the game very soon.

The update, roughly 34GB in size, brings fixes for game-crashing bugs. There is also a focus on fixing minor issues such as “inability to draw weapons at the Poppy Farm during The Hunt” or a bug “where it was impossible to complete the objective for destroying flamingos if they were destroyed before the objective was active in Epistrophy: Rancho Coronado.”

CD Projekt Red had last rolled out a major update for Cyberpunk 2077 in January this year. Patch 1.1, brought a slew of improvements along with the open world and quest fixes. The update also packed UI and visual gameplay changes.

The studio had planned to roll out the second update much earlier. The plan got derailed after its network suffered a massive ransomware attack. “Our goal for Patch 1.2 goes beyond any of our previous updates. We’ve been working on numerous overall quality improvements and fixes, and we still have work to do to make sure that’s what you get. With that in mind, we’re now aiming for release in the second half of March,” the company had said on Twitter.

CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 launched in December last year. The game was panned by critics over numerous bugs across platforms. The issue became so severe that at one point, Sony had to take down the game from its online stores and began issuing full refunds.

Interestingly, an investor had sued the studio over the botched release of the game. CD Projekt failed to disclose that Cyberpunk 2077 was “virtually unplayable on the current-generation Xbox or Playstation systems due to an enormous number of bugs,” according to the complainant.
