Google Nest smart speaker leaks again ahead of Sept 30 launch

Google’s hardware event is scheduled for September 30. New Pixel phones, Chromecast and a new smart speaker are lined up for the event. Google already revealed its upcoming Nest smart speaker, and now a fresh leak reveals the device again.

This time Google’s Nest smart speaker has leaked in two colours of ‘Charcoal’ and ‘Chalk’ based on the images from WinFuture. Google has previously confirmed its Nest smart speaker with an image showing the device in a light blue colour. It’s expected to come in pink as well. The new Google Nest smart speaker looks quite different than its predecessors with an oblong-like cylindrical design.

The smart speaker is also covered entirely in fabric with a plastic bottom base. It has one port for the power output. There’s also a switch at the back to turn off the microphone. The ‘G’ logo is embossed at the back of the smart speaker. Unlike the previous versions, this Google Nest smart speaker can be placed vertically or horizontally. While we know how the new Nest smart speaker will look like its specs aren’t known yet.

This will be the third device under Google’s Nest brand which is now used for its smart devices. Google has so far launched the Nest Hub smart display, and the Nest Mini.

Along with the new Nest smart speaker, Google will also launch the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G smartphones. There’s a new Google Chromecast as well which will come bundled with a remote this time.
