Google to launch a new line of Nest security cameras in 2021

Google has grand plans for its Nest line of security cameras. The company last launched the Nest Cam IQ Outdoor back in September 2017. Now, word is that the company is planning to upgrade its security camera lineup by launching a new line of Nest security cameras this year.

Google, in a statement to 9To5 Google, has confirmed that it is planning to ‘launch a new lineup of security cameras for 2021.’ The tech giant said that it will ‘keep investing in new innovations’, which includes a new lineup of security cameras.

The company also said even as it introduces a new line of devices, all existing Nest security camera owners will continue to get feature support, software fixes and critical security updates. Beyond this, the company didn’t delve into the details as to what we should expect from its upcoming devices.

Notably, the news comes shortly after the company, in a statement to the publication, confirmed that its Nest Cam IQ Outdoor is sold out. It also comes after the company announced a strategic partnership with ADT last August wherein thousands of professional technicians will ‘sell and install Nest cameras and Nest Hub Max.’

Google’s existing camera lineup starts with the Nest Cam Indoor at $129.99 ( ₹9,506 approx). The lineup also includes the Nest Cam Indoor that costs $299 ( ₹21,862 approx) and the Nest Cam Outdoor that costs $199 ( ₹14,552 approx).
