BTS's ‘Butter’ breaks YouTube's 24-hour debut record with over 112 mn views

BTS has set a new record of getting the highest video views in 24 hours of its release on YouTube. BTS’s new ‘Butter’ music video garnered over 112 million views within 24 hours of its release. It currently has 118 million views on YouTube. With this new feat, BTS has smashed its own record which was previously held by ‘Dynamite’.

BTS also holds the first and second positions for the biggest YouTube music video Premiere with over 3.9 million peak concurrents on Butter, according to YouTube. It previously held the first spot for Dynamite which saw over 3 million peak concurrents. This makes BTS grab the first and second spots for the biggest YouTube Premieres to date.

YouTube is yet to announce the official figures for the number of views on the music video’s 24-hour debut. According to Chart Data, Butter reached 112.9 million views on YouTube in the first 24 hours. Even if the official numbers differ, BTS is still expected to hold the first or second position for the most YouTube views in 24 hours. It’s not just YouTube though. Butter has reportedly crossed 14.87 million streams on Spotify. It’s expected to break Spotify’s all-time single day record as well.

Last year, BTS’s Dynamite music video raked in 101 million views within just 24 hours of its release. This title was previously held by Blackpink for How You Like That which had reached 82.4 million views in its 24-hour debut. BTS and Blackpink have actually been going back and forth with this YouTube record. Both K-Pop groups have a massive fan base globally that race to make sure the newly released music videos get as many views as possible and hopefully break records as well.
