Google kicked off its annual developers’ conference, I/O 2021, with a musical performance by artist David Li in partnership with Google Arts & Culture. At the event, the company announced a host of updates that will be coming to its products and services including Maps, Android, Chrome and Workspaces, in the coming days. In addition to this, the company also announced the steps that it is taking to make the shopping experience on its platform better.
In this series, the company announced that it was expanding its partnership with Shopify. As a part of this partnership, the company is introducing a simplified process that will let Shopify’s 1.7 million merchants feature their products across Google easily. "This new collaboration with Shopify will enable merchants to become discoverable to high-intent consumers across Google Search, Shopping, YouTube, Google Images and more," the company wrote in a blog post.

In addition to this, the company announced that now when users view any screenshot in Google Photos they will get a suggestion to search the image with Lens. This indeed will allow users to see search results that will help them find objects, such as a pair of shoes or a book, that caught their eye in the screenshot.
In addition to this, the company announced a new module in Chrome that will help users pick up their work exactly where they left it. “We’re introducing a new feature in Chrome that works locally on your device to let you see your open carts when you open a new tab,” the company added in a blog.

Lastly, the company said that soon it will introduce a new feature that will let users link their favourite loyalty programs from various programs to their Google accounts. This would allow users to purchase products from their favorite products via Google.
