Google Search has been updated with tools that aim to make learning easier. The new Google Search features are available globally in English. Google plans to add support for more languages in the future.
Google has added quick access to over 2,000 STEM concepts on Search. Now when you search for science and math concepts such as “chemical bonds”, Google Search will show different tabs for examples, videos, practice problems and videos. Speaking of which, practice problems are also a new addition that will appear in search results. “This interactive feature tests your knowledge of high school math, chemistry and physics topics directly on Search,” Google said in a blog post.
Google will also display learning resources from educational providers like BBC Bitesize, Byjus, Careers360, Chegg, CK12, Education Quizzes, GradeUp, Great Minds, Kahoot!, OpenStax, Toppr, Vedantu and more. Google Search AR also has support for over 200 chemistry, biology, physics, and anatomy concepts.
Google Search will also help with math homework for equation problems like “x^2-3x-4=0”. The Google Lens app also has a math problem section where you can scan a problem and it will display a step-by-step guide on how to solve it. Google said it is expanding support for more types of math equations through partnerships with Symbolab, Mathway, and Tiger Algebra.
Google plans to give users access to difficult STEM questions as well. It will add support for STEM questions like “0.50 moles of NaCI are dissolved in 2.5 L of water, what is the molarity?” in the coming weeks. It will also show targeted resources for such complex subjects.
