Google is reportedly testing a new layout for in-app browser on the Google app. The new layout features a bottom bar in the browser. It is currently available in the Android beta. There is no word on when the feature will officially roll out.
An AndroidPolice report says the new bottom bar makes it easier for users to navigate on modern phones with larger screens. The bar features traditional navigation forward and backward shortcuts. There is also a share shortcut in the bar.
Tapping on the three-dot menu, you will get shortcuts to refresh the page, open the page in the Chrome browser, find content in a page, and browser setting. You can also share feedback from here.
Separately, Google recently rolled out a new update for its Calendar users. The new update brings a small but useful change – relocation of search button to the top of the navigation bar. You can now use the search shortcut to check the upcoming events. The update is available to the Calendar app on the Android platform. It’s likely to be available for iPhone users very soon.
