YouTube last month launched an important update for the creators’ community – the ability to change the channel name and profile without affecting their Google account. Earlier, changes to the channel name reflected on your other Google services, such as Gmail. So, read on to find out how to change YouTube channel name without changing Google account name, but know here that there is a bit of danger involved.
Essentially, creators can now keep a single Google account and have different profiles-sorts on Gmail, YouTube, and other services. It also does away with the problem of creating another Gmail ID to own a new channel name.
The YouTube update, however, comes with a caveat – creators may lose the verification badge (if verified) following the name of the channel. But, it does not mean creators cannot re-apply and re-gain the verification badge.
How to change YouTube channel name without changing Google account name

On your smartphone / mobile phone
Step 1: Open the YouTube application on your phone. Here, tap on your profile photo.
Step 2: Go to Your channel. Then, go to the Edit channel.
Step 3: Here, you can edit or add the name. Makes the changes. Tap OK to save.
Step 4: Change your profile photo by tapping on the photo. Now, either click a new photo or upload an existing image from your device. Once uploaded, press Save.
On your PC
Step 1: Open YouTube Studio. Log in with your account.
Step 2: Click on Customisation on the left menu. Choose Basic Info.
Step 3: Click on Edit to modify or add a new channel name. To save changes, hit Publish.
Step 4: To update the profile photo, choose Customisation from the top left menu.
Step 5: Select Branding > Upload and add a new image. Adjust the photo based on your preference. Hit publish to save the changes.
