It was an interesting day in the world of technology today. On one hand, Microsoft hosted Build 2021 conference wherein it announced collaborative apps for Teams. On the other hand, Google Chrome registered over 3 billion users.

Microsoft announces collaborative apps for Teams

Microsoft is also opening up Teams to developers to build apps which will be called “collaborative apps”. With this developers will be able to use standard web technologies, JavaScript, and Teams APIs to integrate into Teams.

Instagram brings Insights to Reels, Live Videos

Instagram will now start showing insights for Reels and Live. Instagram lets creators and businesses keep a check on their account’s progress through its Insight tool. Now users will be able to check the performance of their Reels and Live videos as well.

Instagram, Facebook get a feature to hide like count

Facebook today announced that now Instagram and Facebook users will have the option to hide their public like counts. Users can also choose to hide like counts before sharing a post. Alternatively, users can turn this setting on or off even after it goes live.

Google Chrome now has more than 3 billion users

A new report suggests that Google Chrome is being used by over 3.2 billion users around the world. According to a report by AtlasVPN, Google’s browser is now being used by 3,25,82,56,887 users – or 41 percent of the population and over 60 percent of all devices.

Google News Showcase is now on the desktop

Google has begun rolling out News Showcase to the desktop web. Before this, News Showcase was limited to mobile platforms. Users will see News Showcase panels on their Top Stories page, which is also the landing page of Google News.
