Xiaomi’s latest flagship, the Mi 11, was released in December. The first flagship device to feature Qualcomm’s top of the line Snapdragon 888 processor and is widely considered one of the most powerful devices on the market after Apple’s iPhone 12 series.

However, Gizchina reports that just over a week after the phone went on sale, customers who have used the device for extended periods are reporting a strange audio bug. While it has been reported by many users, the bug is difficult to reproduce by itself.

According to reports, users have provided feedback that the device makes a few strange noises when music is played. But this occurs only when a user has put pressure on the back of the device when the audio is playing.

Gizchina’s report goes on to say that Xiaomi explained that the Mi 11 has a customised and optimised internal structure and that it was built with a special cavity inside the back cover portion to provide a stereo dual speaker effect, and that this allows the Mi 11 to perform better with bass and lower frequencies.

Mi 11 users are advised to refrain from using too much force on the back of the phone, whether they are listening to music or not as it might cause damage to the phone’s body. It might also be advisable to use the phone with a well designed cover to protect the special cavity inside the back area from accidental damage.

Launched last month in China, the flagship smartphone starts at 3,999 Yuan (or 45,000), the Mi 11 ships with a 6.81-inch WQHD AMOLED screen which refreshes at 120Hz. It also supports HDR10+, P3 colour spectrum and is protected by Corning’s proprietary Gorilla Glass Victus. The flagship also has a 108-megapixel primary rear camera, a 123-degree wide-angle 13-megapixel sensor, a 5-megapixel telephoto/macro lens and a 20-megapixel camera in the front. It will likely be launched globally in the near future.
