To grab a bigger share of the market, Realme is looking at delivering smartphones to the Indian public that pack great features, but which are not too pricey. That looks like an irresistible spiel and the company is moving forward on it. Realme is likely set to launch the RealmeX9, a new smartphone series and the successor to the company's Realme X7 smartphone series that was released last year. The company's X series is popular for delivering very capable hardware at an affordable price, and it looks like Realme is planning to continue along the same lines, according to the recent leaks about the upcoming X9 series. A tipster on Weibo has also revealed that the launch of the company's X9 smartphone series could be right around the corner.

The China-based tipster revealed that the Realme X9 and the Realme X9 Pro -- two of the company's rumoured upcoming devices will launch in China in July. Unfortunately, there is no information with regard to a specific date when the device will be launched. However, it is unlikely it will take much longer, according to a report by 91Mobiles which states that the Realme X9 Pro and Realme X9 are likely to replace the Realme X50 Pro and Realme V15 respectively.

Realme X9 Pro, Realme X9 expected specifications

This is not the first time that the specifications have been made available – in March, we reported that the specifications of the Realme X9 Pro had leaked on Weibo, with a Mediatek Dimensity 1200 chipset. However, the report also suggests that there might be a variant with the Snapdragon 870 chipset that is also found on the Mi 11X smartphone.

The Realme X9 Pro is expected to come with a 6.5-inch AMOLED display and is powered by a 4,500mAh battery, while supporting 5G connectivity and dual band WiFI. The device is expected to charge at 65W. It is expected to come with a 32 MP selfie shooter on the front while the rear cameras should sport a 50 MP primary camera, 16 MP ultra wide camera, plus a third 2 MP monochrome photography sensor.

Meanwhile the more affordable Realme X9 specifications include a Snapdragon 778G processor under the hood, which means it will support 5G connectivity when networks begin providing connectivity in the country. According to the report, the device will be powered by a 4,400mAh battery, with unspecified fast charging speed. It is also expected to come with a 6.5-inch AMOLED screen, similar to the one on the rumoured Realme X9 Pro smartphone.

Realme X9, Realme X9 Pro expected pricing

While there is no official word on the pricing of these devices, the report by 91Mobiles suggests that the price of the Realme X9 series could be somewhere between RMB 2,699 ( 30,950) for the 8GB/128GB variant, and the 12GB/256GB variant is expected to cost RMB 2,999 ( 34,392). The more affordable Realme X9 is expected to come in two undisclosed variants, that are expected to cost RMB 2,000 ( 22,971) and RMB 2,500 ( 28,688) when they are launched. However, the pricing of these device models could change when they are finally launched in the country.
