Samsung's Galaxy Note series is one of the company's premium budget smartphones. Up until now, the Galaxy Note series smartphones have offered a more utilitarian alternative to Galaxy S-series smartphones. Now, word is that the company is planning to pull the plug on its Galaxy Note series.

The report comes as a courtesy of the tipster who goes by the name Ice Universe on Twitter. The tipster says that there is no word on the development of the Galaxy Note 21 series smartphone. “An unusual clue: There is currently no information on the development of the Note21 series,” the tipster wrote.

What is interesting is that the tipster isn't the only one who has hinted towards the Galaxy Note 21 series being absent from Samsung's 2021 lineup. XDA Developers' Max Wienbach too has said that the phone, so far, remains missing from the company's lineup. The tipster says that Samsung's 2021 lineup includes Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Z Fold FE.

Wait, there's more. As per a separate report by Ice Universe, Galaxy S21 Ultra smartphone will feature support for S-Pen stylus -- a feature that is a hallmark of the company's Galaxy Note series. If this report is indeed true, the top variant of the Galaxy S series smartphone will replace the Galaxy Note series smartphone.

If these reports are true, that is, if Samsung is indeed planning to pull the plug on its Galaxy Note series, it would mean that the company is planning to focus on its foldable smartphone and bring them to the mainstream. That said, Samsung hasn't commented on the matter yet, so for now, all we can do is speculate.
