Velfie, the Indian version of the popular application, Dubsmash, allows users to create videos that can be uploaded online. Right from lip-syncing Bollywood movie scenes to emoting through songs, Velfie has found popularity among celebrities, including Yuvraj Singh and Shankar Mahadevan.

We logged in to check how well it fares. One of the biggest advantages that Velfie enjoys is the fact that all of its content is suited to Indian sensibilities, making it easy for the user to mouth famous lines and create a video.

While the app design seems like a work in progress, it could do with some streamlining - currently, it looks like a mishmash of content. From the user's perspective, another disadvantage is the number of ads that keep popping up on the screen.
