Windows 11 update will arrive soon, but not all PCs and laptops will be compatible for the big upgrade. PC Health Check app will let these users know if they pass the Windows 11 compatibility or requirement test.

Windows 11 update will arrive on October 5, and Microsoft is preparing to release its biggest upgrade in six years to Windows, the most popular desktop operating system. Microsoft is excluding a large section of devices that will not receive the upgrade to Windows 11 because they have outdated hardware, even though users can install Windows 11 manually at the risk of losing Windows Update support. Microsoft has also officially released its PC Health Check app to inform users if their device has the required specifications required to run Windows 11.

This is not the first time that Microsoft has released the PC Health Check tool – when the company announced Windows 11 in June, it also released the PC Health Check tool which would allow users to see if their devices were compatible with Windows 11. However, the app received a lot of criticism which led to the company pulling the app to work on it, and Windows Latest reports that the app has finally been released to users ahead of the Windows 11 roll out on October 5.

Users might recall that customer dissatisfaction with the old PC Health Check App forced Microsoft to withdraw it. This was because the tool simply informed users that their laptop or desktop computer was not compatible with Windows 11, which upset many users who were trying to understand why their PCs were not eligible for the upgrade.

The reworked PC Health Check app can now inform users about their hardware specifications and which components are not compatible with the upcoming Windows 11 update, so if you have an older Intel or AMD processor or if you do not have TPM 2.0 support or enough RAM and system storage space, you will be better informed about why your hardware is incompatible.

For users who get the message that their PC is not compatible with the Windows 11 update, Microsoft has an important announcement. They will still receive features and security updates on their Windows 10 PCs until October 2025, which gives them plenty of time to upgrade to newer hardware in time for the current version (Windows 10) to go out of support, almost 10 years after it was first released.
