It is very important that big screen TVs look good. That's probably one of the reasons people install them in the first place. The 55 inch VU Super TV looks absolutely stunning at first glance. The bezel, edged by clear glass, provides an elegant look without distracting the user away from the screen. The lower left corner contains the touch sensitive buttons which are both easy to spot and highly responsive to use. The screen rests on a chrome plated four legged stand that also allows the TV to be rotated by approximately 10-15 degrees left and right.

The back of the VU Super TV is fairly simple for a smart TV. The ports on the back include four HDMI ports, two USB ports, audio out (for headphones) along with the conventional coaxial port. Beneath the back side, there are even more ports for VGA (to connect a computer), SCART port and composite audio and video cables. The Super TV indeed provides a wide array of choices for the user to connect their favorite devices using cables. On the other end you'll find an ethernet port (for Internet connectivity) and more USB ports for usage in PC mode.

3D viewing on the VU Super TV is decent but so great. You have to understand that it's nothing like in the theaters or the promos you watch on TV. Firstly, it takes a great deal of patience just to get the settings right. Secondly, you need great 3D content to play on the TV. Third, converting 2D to 3D doesn't always work well. If you're thinking of buying a TV for 3D viewing at home, you might want to wait.

Performance wise the VU Super TV offers unmatched picture quality when it comes to watching high definition content. It can really give the likes of Samsung and Sony, a run for their money. The crisp LED backlit display offers a great TV viewing experience for the living room. The white and black levels along with the colors are simply excellent. It works pretty good out of the box but there are easy-to-use settings available in case you want to tweak it to a perfect view.

Conclusion
At 1,49,990 the VU Super TV is a hefty investment yet the excellent set of features and a highly impressive performance makes it totally worth it. Alternatives include other smart TV variants from Samsung, LG and Sony that are available at a slightly higher market price.
