Google is honouring Amelia Earhart, American aviation pioneer and author, with a plane-shaped doodle to commemorate her 115th birthday. Earhart was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean.

Born on July 24, 1897 in Kansas, Earhart was an adventurous child and was usually called a tomboy. An inspirational ride in the plane in the 1920 with her father sealed her fate. She went to create many records in flying including First woman to fly nonstop, coast-to-coast across the U.S and First woman to fly the Atlantic solo.
