Record broken! BTS band member V sets new Instagram record as the fastest to get 40 mn followers

BTS member Kim Taehyung, better known as V, created a new Instagram record as he became the fastest to surpass 40 million followers.

Kim Taehyung aka V, member of the popular K-Pop band BTS, has created a new Instagram record. Taehyung has become the fastest person to surpass 40 million followers on the social media platform. The band's fan base, commonly referred to as BTS Army, took to Twitter to celebrate the record. ‘Congratulations Taehyung', ‘THV40MILLION' and ‘TaehyungInstagram40M' were seen trending on the microblogging website. V has achieved this feat of surpassing 40 million followers in just 135 days, surprising everyone. Additionally, he has also become the most followed Korean solo male act and actor on Instagram.

In December 2021, all the seven members of BTS – Jin, Jimin, RM, J-Hope, Suga, V and Jungkook – surprised their fans by creating personal Instagram accounts, after not being on the platform for years. Right after their Instagram debut, fans flooded their follower count and after a mere 135 days, V has set a record by becoming the fastest to reach 40 million followers.

BTS Taehyung becomes the fastest to reach 40 mn followers on Instagram

In the 135 days on Instagram, V has made 46 posts. He also follows only 7 accounts on the platform, the six other band members and the official account of BTS. Despite his low frequency of posting, the singer has an average of 12 million likes on his posts. The popularity of Taehyung can also be sensed from the numerous trending hashtags on Twitter. The BTS Army has been continuously congratulating V for the accolade. A fan wrote, “Huge congratulations to Taehyung for surpassing 40M followers on Instagram, making him the fastest person to reach this milestone”.

Another BTS Army member posted, “I am so proud of you! Words are not enough for me to express how immeasurable the beauty you bring to this world is. And those 40 million are proof that nothing and no one can bring you shadow. KING KIM”.

Notably, all of the BTS members have garnered a high number of followers since their debut. At present, Jungkook has 37.6 million followers, Jimin has 33.8 million followers and J-Hope has 33.4 million followers. Alongside, Jin has 33.3 million followers, Suga has reached 32.7 million followers and RM has 32.5 million followers.
