The next time you pull out your smartphone and launch the OlaCabs app, you'll be able to do more than order a taxi -- you'll be able to order food.

Ola has launched Ola Cafe, a new service now available in Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai and parts of Bangalore that will let you deliver food in 20 minutes or less, claims the company.

Here's how you go about it: update the app to the latest version and select 'Cafe', which will be a new option at the bottom of the screen. Select your dish from menus for lunch, snacks and dinner and choose to pay either by cash or Ola Money. That's it. You'll be able to see your order on the way to you right within the app, just as you see your taxi arriving. Users will also be able to get in touch with the delivery person once they are on the way.

What still isn't clear is whether restaurants will feature in the app or whether Ola has tied up with certain restaurants. We've reached out to Ola to find out the specifics.

Ola Cafe is similar to UberFresh, an online food delivery system that was launched last year in the US by Uber. According to a report​ last month, Uber was exploring paid courier, food delivery and grocery delivery facilities in India at a yet-to-be-determined time.
