Android users, here’s how to can scan documents, photos into PDFs

We all know that Google Drive app can be used for storing files and folders online. Apart from that, it can also be used for scanning and saving documents as PDFs.

PDFs are one of the most annoying yet incredibly necessary pieces of documents in the digital world and the corona pandemic has hurried up the process in an incredible manner. They are annoying because scanning them is a pain most of the time. It takes time, it takes effort and it takes a lot of effort and sometimes leads to frustration too. And the worst thing is, the work is often just abandoned mid-way.

Why PDF are important

PDFs are essential as they make it possible for people to carry a digital copy of their important documents such as a driving license, tax documents, loan documents or even the registration documents of vehicles without having to worry about losing them. They are also required while submitting documents online.

In fact, the Net is full of apps -- both paid and free -- that enable users to convert their physical documents into digital ones while saving them in precious PDF format. But if you are an Android user, you don't need to download all those hefty apps on your smartphone. All you need is a time-trusted friend, ehmm... app called Google Drive.

We all know that Google Drive app can be used for storing files and folders online. Apart from that, it can also be used for scanning and saving documents as PDFs. Here's a step-by-step guide for you.

How to scan documents, photos into pdf on Android smartphones:

Step 1: Open the Google Drive app on your Android smartphone.

Step 2: In the bottom right corner of the app, tap on the Add icon.

Step 3: Now tap on the Scan button.

Step 4: Take a photo of the document that you would like to scan.

Step 5: Adjust the area of the document using the Crop button.

Step 6: Tap on the Re-scan current page button to take a photo again.

Step 7: Tap on the Add button to scan another page.

Step 8: Now tap on the Done button.

Step 9: Now Drive will ask you where to save it in Google Drive and with what file name. Add the required fields.

Step 10: Lastly, tap on the Save button once you are done!

Congrats, you have successfully scanned and saved a PDF in Google Drive without having had to download any additional apps!
