Meta owned photo sharing app Instagram has added a handful of useful features including Remix for Reels, Shopping option, new stickers for links, and public threads last year to attract users. One such feature is scheduling Instagram live streams. The schedule Instagram live video feature allows users or content creators to schedule their live streams from 1 hour to 90 days in advance. This feature also includes a reminder- users get reminders for the live broadcast 24 hours and 15 minutes before the event.

Instagram enables users to start a live video via Stories to build viewers' engagement, especially for aspiring creators. It also enables users to connect directly with their followers. Hence, scheduling a live stream feature of Instagram helps users to create buzz about any event by posts, countdowns and more in advance. Followers can see the post, description, and a prompt that contains the live link. With Live Scheduling, users can even post countdown stories to engage more and more followers.

Here's how to schedule Instagram live video:

Step 1: Open the Instagram app on your mobile or smartphone.

Step 2: Next, swipe left to open the camera and then swipe right from the bottom edge to shoot ‘Live'

Step 3: Click on Instagram live schedule available on the right-hand side of the screen.

Step 4: Next, click on the schedule option and create or set the title of the event in ‘Video Title'.

Step 5: Now, tap on the start time and select the date and time that you want to schedule and click on Schedule Live video.

Step 6: Once done, your live is scheduled and you can share the scheduled live as a post for your followers, who will be updated with reminders before you go live.

Notably, you can also edit the timing and title of the video by going to scheduled live and clicking on the three dots icon to make changes. You also have an option to cancel the broadcast.

Meanwhile, the app has recently launched a new feature for its users called “Take a Break”. This feature will remind users to take a break from scrolling. The feature has been rolled out to help people with Instagram addiction. This feature will enable users to set the reminder after specific time intervals like 10, 20 or 30 minutes.
