Application process for one of the most prestigious government jobs, UPSC CSE has started for the year 2022. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the official notification of the Civil Services Exam 2022 on its official portal upsc.gov.in. As per the official UPSC CSE 2022 notification, applications will be accepted online only on upsconline.nic.in till Feb 22, 2022. According to the exam calendar, the UPSC CSE preliminary exam 2022 will be held on June 5. The competitive exam will be conducted to select suitable candidates for various all india services like Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), etc. Check the eligibility criteria, paper pattern and how to apply here.

UPSC Civil Services Exam 2022: Eligibility criteria

The candidate willing to apply for CSE 2022 must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised university.

The minimum age should be at least 21 years and the upper age limit must not exceed 32 years as on the 1st of August, 2022. Relaxation on age is given to the reserved category.

The candidates should also be an Indian national to be eligible for IAS and IPS posts.

UPSC Civil Services 2022: Exam pattern

The Civil Services examinations comprises a preliminary exam followed by a mains examination and an interview. The UPSC CSE prelims is based on objective type questions while the mains exam is based on subjective papers.

The Civil Services prelims has two papers: Paper I is based on current affairs, history of India, world, geography, polity, governance, economy, environment, sociology and general science of total 200 marks while paper II includes comprehension, logical reasoning, decision making and mental ability. The paper two is of qualifying nature and candidates must secure at least 33%. Candidates must qualify the UPSC CSE prelims in order to be eligible for mains examination.

Step 1:

Visit the official website of UPSC - upsconline.nic.in.

Step 2:

On the homepage, click on the application link for CSE 2022.

Step 3:

On the next page, click on the part I registration link available against the CSE prelims 2022.

Step 4:

Fill in the UPSC CSE application form with the necessary details to complete the part I registration. 

Step 5:

Once done, save the registration number and password and proceed to part II registration.

Step 6:

Complete the remaining details and upload the required documents.

Step 7:

Pay the application fee and download a copy of the UPSC CSE prelims application form 2022 for future reference.
