How to secure your smartphone from hackers

Step 1: Suspicious? Avoid -- It’s about the gut feeling! Any suspicious app, email, or website containing links or options that ask for personal information should be avoided. Also, stay away from pirated media and software because they are often infected with hazardous spyware.
Step 2: Keep updating your system -- The frequent updates or up-to-date for your system as well as apps may not completely make it free from all the flaws but the latest updates will surely be available with fixes to all the bugs and vulnerabilities, hence minimising the risk of attack by hackers on your device. You can also enable auto-update in Android for the system as well as for the 'auto-update apps'. For that go to the Settings, then General and tap on 'Software Update' and 'enable automatic updates.
Step 3: Enable built-in security features -- Android and iOS both include a number of important features that may help you secure your smartphone. First, you must set a lock screen password. Then, lock your apps and data, and remember to change your passwords frequently. You should also encrypt your phone to keep it safe from hackers who want to invade your phone and steal its data.
Step 4: Limited connections -- Wi-Fi networks are usually insecure, especially in the case of free hotspots. That's why it is advised to use WiFi in public and use a VPN, which encrypts your connection to add an additional layer of security.
