UPSC recruitment 2022 - Educational requirement

Applicants should have a Master's Degree in Chemistry or Associateship diploma of the Institution of Chemist by examination or Biochemistry. Else, the candidate should have Pharmacology or Pharmacy or Forensic Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects during the three years of Bachelors of Science level from a recognized University. You should note that the associateship diploma of the Institution of Chemist by examination qualification will be applicable only to the departmental scientists.

UPSC recruitment 2022 - Age criteria

Before applying you should note that the age limit for the candidates is set at 30 years as on the normal closing date which is June 2, 2022. The age concession is applicable to some categories of applicants. Candidates can refer to the ‘Instructions and Additional Information' paras in the advertisement here.

UPSC recruitment 2022 - Experience

The candidate should have three years of experience in research and analytical work in the field of Toxicology. This can be in any central and state organization or recognized institute or university or forensic Science laboratory under the Central Government and State Government. Additionally, the experience of working in a Forensic Science Laboratory is a must.

Candidates who are applying should note that though the headquarters of UPSC is situated in New Delhi, but other laboratories are available in several cities including Chandigarh, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Kamrup (Assam), Pune and Bhopal. Hence, after recruitment, to perform the duties, the officer may be required to serve in any part of India.

UPSC recruitment 2022 - Pay Scale

The pay scale for UPSC Junior Scientific Officer (Toxicology) is of Pay Level-7 of the 7th Pay Commission pay matrix under CCS (RP) Rules, 2016. The total pays excluding TA and HRA at the time of appointment will be Rs.44,900 along with DA as applicable per month.
