Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg last month announced a new feature called Messenger Rooms. Messenger Rooms, as the executive explained, would allow Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp and Portal users to interact with one another without leaving their respective platforms. Shortly after the announcement, the feature was spotted on the beta version of WhatsApp’s iOS based app.

Now, WhatsApp in an update on its FAQ page has explained how iPhone users will be able to use Messenger Rooms in WhatsApp.

So, here is a step-by-step guide on how to use Messenger Rooms on WhatsApp for iOS:

Step 1: Open WhatsApp and then tap on the Calls tab.

Step 2: Pull down the tab and then tab on Create a Room option. Alternatively, you can also open an individual chat or a group chat > tap on Attack and then Room option in individual chat or group call icon and the Create a Room icon in group chats.

Step 3: Now you will see a prompt. Tap on Continue in Messenger option. Then tap on the Open option.

Step 4: In the following prompt click on Try It option.

Step 5: Now tap on Create a Room option and give it a name.

Step 6: Next, tap on Send Link on WhatsApp to reopen WhatsApp.

Step 7: In the following prompt tap on Open option.

Step 8: Now select contacts or the group chats with whom you want to share the Room link with. Tap on the Next button.

Step 9: Now you will see the link with space to customise the message. Type in your message and tap on the Send button and you’re done!

It's worth noting that Messenger Rooms feature for WhatsApp is still in the testing phase. It will take the company some time to roll out the feature on to its main app.
