Lock Facebook Profile from phone, PC: Here’s to do in easy steps

Facebook has rolled out a new feature to lock your profile and secure it from unwanted access.

Facebook has launched Profile lock features allowing users to restrict unwanted access. This feature has made the Facebook account more secure. By enabling this feature, you can restrict those people who are not on your Facebook friends list to see a limited view of the profile. Also, they can't take a screenshot of your profile picture or any other posts. Once you lock your profile, only they can see your photos and posts on the timeline, profile picture and cover photo, stories, and new posts who are in your friends list. Also, your ‘Public' posts will not be public and only visible to friends only.

If you wish to lock your Facebook profile, you can do it from the mobile app or from your browser, however, this feature is not available on the desktop version of Facebook. Also, this feature is limited to the Android phones only. Here's how you can lock your Facebook profile to make it more secure.

How to lock your Facebook profile via the Android mobile app:

Step 1: Open the Facebook app on your mobile and tap on your profile

Step 2: Next, click on the three dot menu icon available next to ‘Add to Story'

Step 3: Here, you will see a Lock Profile option, tap on it.

Step 4: A new page will be opened where you will get a brief on how it works. Scroll down the page and you will see an option to Lock Your Profile at the bottom

Step 5: Tap on it and a pop-up will appear on the screen saying, ‘You Locked Your Profile.'

Step 6: Confirm the settings and it's done.

How to lock Facebook profile via desktop

While there is no direct way to lock your Facebook profile from the browser, there is a workaround similar to Facebook app. You'll have to open the browser and go to your Facebook profile. Once your profile is opened, you will have to follow the above mentioned process.

iOS users can also use the same desktop workaround to lock their profiles.
