If you are intending to travel for whatever reason then here is a piece of information that you need to know - you need to get your passport number linked to your Covid-19 vaccination certificate in order to be able to travel overseas.

If you like rules to be emphasised, then it wouldn't be too far-fetched to say that no vaccine means no travel -- AT ALL!

So, how can you ensure that you travel abroad without any restrictions (you'll still have to apply for a visa, though!)? Thankfully for all of us, the process of linking passport number with vaccination certificate is simple and can be easily done online. All you need to do is follow these simple steps.

How to link passport number with Covid-19 vaccination certificate online:

Step 1: Go to the official CoWIN website -- www.cowin.gov.in.

Step 2: Now go to the Account Details section and click on the ‘Raise Issue' button.

Step 3: Here you will see three options -- Certificate Correction, Merge Multiple Dose 1 Certificates and Add Passport Details. Click on Add Passport Details option.

Step 4: Now, you will be redirected to the page where you will have to select the name of the person whose passport you want to link.

Step 5: Select the name of the person in the drop-down menu and then type the passport number in the ‘Enter Beneficiary's Passport Number' section.

Step 6: Now, check the box that says -- ‘I declare that this passport belongs to the beneficiary. The name of the passport holder is the same as mentioned on the vaccine certificate.'

Step 7: Click on the Submit Request button. Now, you will get an SMS on your registered mobile number confirming that your request has been submitted.

Step 8: Now go back to the Account Details page and click on the Certificate button next to the name of the person for whom you have raised the request to download the new vaccination certificate that is linked to your passport.
