PM Kisan 13 installment: eKYC mandatory to receive benefits; do it online now

Here is an important update for the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme. If you have registered under the scheme, it is mandatory for you to do eKYC. According to a tweet by the Agriculture Department, Government of Bihar, the beneficiaries of the PM Kisan scheme need to complete the eKYC process by January 28, 2023. It can be known that the 13th installment of the PM Kisan scheme is expected to be released soon, however, the date of the same has not been confirmed.

eKYC can be done online by visiting the official website of PM Kisan or via its mobile application. "eKYC is MANDATORY for PMKISAN Registered Farmers. OTP Based eKYC is available on PMKISAN Portal or nearest CSC centres may be contacted for Biometric based eKYC," the PM Kisan website stated. It is advised to get the eKYC done so that you do not face any issues in receiving the PM Kisan 13 installment in your bank accounts.

It can be known that the 12th installment of Rs. 16000 crore was released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 17, 2023, under the PM Kisan Scheme. The PM Kisan scheme is a central sector scheme that was started to provide income support to all landholding farmers' families in the country. An annual financial benefit of Rs. 6,000 is being provided to eligible beneficiary farmer families under the scheme.

The amount is credited directly to the bank account of the farmers in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each, every 4th month. If you have not yet done the PM Kisan eKYC, here are the steps you need to follow.

PM Kisan: Steps to complete the KYC process online

Step 1:

Go to the official website of PM Kisan or click on the link- https://pmkisan.gov.in/.

Step 2:

Look for the ‘Farmers Corner’ section on the homepage and click on ‘eKYC’ mentioned under it.

Step 3:

As you will click on the eKYC option, you will be redirected to the ‘OTP Based Ekyc’ page where you need to enter your Aadhaar number and then click on ‘Search’.

Step 4:

Enter your mobile number which is linked with Aadhaar, once your Aadhaar number is displayed. You will then have to click on ‘Get OTP’.

Step 5:

Enter the OTP in the required field received on your phone and proceed further.

Step 6:

As the OTP is verified and all the details match, the eKYC process will be successfully completed.
