Nothing Phone (1) will not be a flagship smartphone! This was long known after the first leaks emerged. The Nothing Phone (1) will focus on the user experience with a clever mix of specs. Later on, it was assumed that the phone could be using the new Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip, which is supposed to be the logical successor to the Snapdragon 778G – last year's darling chipset for smartphone makers. Sadly, the Phone (1) recently passed the Geekbench and it revealed the name of chipset.

Nothing is going to use a chip that is technically new but not as powerful as the new Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. The chip in question is the Snapdragon 778G+, which is essentially a mildly boosted version of the Snapdragon 778G. We had seen this chipset in the Motorola Edge 30 5G recently and it did not disappoint in terms of performance. Hence, with Nothing OS on board the Phone (1), we can expect fast and smooth performance for everyday tasks as well as casual gaming.

Observed by GSMArena first, the Geekbench results show good scores for the chip – 797 for single core and 2803 for multi-core. The phone will also boot Android 12, which is likely to be masked by the Nothing OS.

Nothing hasn't revealed the official details yet and hence, you should still wait for the launch on July 12. We already know how the phone looks, courtesy of the official design reveal. The Phone (1) lays a lot of focus on design, especially with its transparent rear and a new kind of LED notification lights, which Nothing calls the GLYPH interface. The phone also has an edge-to-edge display with uniform and slim bezels, and a punch-hole cutout for the front camera.

Nothing also confirms a dual rear camera system with a dedicated video recording LED light at the back. The phone will support wireless charging and is rumored to have support for 45W wired fast charging.
