WhatsApp to get Instagram-like location sticker SOON! Know how to use it

WhatsApp has a bunch of features and tricks that many of you may not even be aware of! Undoubtedly, WhatsApp is not just a messaging app but more than that with the inclusion of video calling, audio messaging, large media sharing files, use of media such as stickers, GIFs and more. To add to all that, WhatsApp is now bringing a newly redesigned location sticker that you can share on WhatsApp Status. The WhatsApp update tracker, WABetaInfo reported that the instant messaging app has reportedly started rolling out a new update for Beta Android users.

The way you add your location sticker on Instagram while sharing a photo or video on stories, you can use a location sticker on WhatsApp status too! But the design of the WhatsApp location sticker is a little different from the ones that we usually find on other apps. And now, the report reveals that the redesign of the location sticker will bring forth a whole new look, which will, more or less, look like the one available on Instagram.

"It is been a long time since we saw a new content sticker, a particular type of sticker generated from the app with dynamic content, that's possible to place on your photos when using the drawing editor. It seems that WhatsApp is not planning to add new content stickers, but they are going to introduce a small redesign," the WABetaInfo report mentioned. It clearly mentions that WhatsApp is working on a redesigned location sticker under the section “Content Stickers”, which is available in the drawing editor tool. Though there is still time to get the redesigned location sticker but you can use it now with the currently available design while sharing the status. Here's how to use it.

How to add location sticker on WhatsApp Status

Step 1:

To add the location sticker on your status along with the media. First, you will need to open your app on Android or Apple smartphones.

Step 2:

Then, go to the Status option, available right after the Chats options.

Step 3:

Here, you can simply click or record a new media or can pick it up from the gallery. For that, you will need to swipe up to get the images from your photo gallery.

Step 4:

Once you have selected the media, tap on the smiley icon in the top right corner. It will give you options to add all the possible stickers.

Step 5:

Under content stickers, you will find the Time, clock, and location stickers. Tap on the location sticker icon.

Step 6:

After this, it will ask you to turn on the location of your device. Once your location is enabled, you can add your current location or search for another one.

Step 7:

The location sticker will appear on top of the media. You can simply move it anywhere or resize it according to you. And it’s done! You can now share your status with a location sticker.
