How to book LPG Cylinders online without Internet: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has partnered with UltraCash Technologies, a payment solutions platform, to offer voice-based online LPG cylinder booking service, through which customers can make payment and book a cylinder online without the need for a smartphone or internet connection. Now BharatGas subscribers can easily use a feature phone to call up the agency and both make advance payment and book the cylinder. BPCL also claims that it is the first company in India to offer this service. If you are a customer of the company and want to book a BPCL cylinder online, then just read on.

The new service launched by BPCL comes shortly after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) launched the UPI 123Pay service on March 8, through which users can transact digitally without the need for a smartphone or internet connection. At the time of the launch, the RBI governor Shaktikanta Das said, “The launch of UPI 123Pay makes the facilities under UPI now accessible to that section of society which was so far excluded from the digital payment landscape. In that way it is promoting financial inclusion in our economy”.

BPCL offers voice-based online LPG cylinder booking

The new service by BharatGas is an Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS), where users can dial a number to interact with the company's automated system and both book a cylinder and make a payment, without ever needing to access a digital interface. With a large number of population, especially in rural areas, still using feature phones, this initiative can help those BPCL consumers book LPG cylinders online more efficiently.

“India still has a vast majority of feature phone users. Further even in urban areas many users are looking for fully secure ways of digital payments. With the Government of India also promoting usage of LPG through schemes like Ujjwala yojana, this facility will help in further penetrating into rural markets. Though this service can be used by all, it is primarily meant for non-feature phone users but ease and security of payments of UPI123PAY will make it popular across all segments and users. So BharatGas is enabling a service which is truly meant for BHARAT, said Santosh Kumar, Executive Director Incharge (LPG), BPCL, as reported by BGR.

How to Book LPG Cylinders online

Step 1:

Customers of BPCL can call the number 08045163554 to initiate the process of online booking.

Step 2:

After calling, the automated voice will ask the user to select a language. There is a wide range of vernacular languages available to choose from.

Step 3:

After that, the user will have to dial the registered mobile number with BPCL. In case the call has been made from the same number, the user can simply confirm by pressing 1. 

Step 4:

The next steps include confirming the booking of the LPG cylinder and acknowledging the date and time of estimated receiving.

Step 5:

To book the BPCL cylinder online, the user will have to make a payment. For this, they will simply need to add the financial details like credit or debit card number as well as PIN code.

Step 6:

Once payment has been made, the booking will be confirmed and the cylinder will be delivered to the user. And that’s how to book LPG cylinders online without a smartphone or internet connection.
