One such feature is ‘Hide My Email' on iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 that enable users to hide their personal email address and keep it private. This feature allows users to have randomly-generated email addresses that can be used anywhere. This helps users to forward emails to their personal mailbox giving them the ability to delete them at any time. iPhone and iPad users can also use ‘Hide My Email' directly from Safari, Mail, and iCloud settings. Users can deactivate their existing random email addresses any time they want.

The ‘Hide My Email' feature is a part of iCloud+ which is a paid subscription-based service starting at just Rs. 75 ($0.99 in the US) per month. The feature is also an extension of the existing Sign in that was introduced by Apple earlier.

Here is a step-step guide to set up Hide My Email on your iPhone or iPad. Once you have iCloud+ activated on your iPhone or iPad, you can set up Hide My Email by following these steps

Step 1: Go to Settings of your phone and then tap your name from the top.

Step 2: Next, select iCloud and then go to Hide My Email.

Step 3: Tap on “+ Create new address” and generate a random email address with @icloud.com that you can use for signing up on a new site or app, without letting the developers know your personal email address. The emails shared with the randomly-generated email address will be displayed in your personal inbox.

Step 4: Press Continue. If you want a different email id and then you can tap Use different address to get a new email.

Step 5: Once the random mail id is generated, you will need to create a label for your address so that you can remember it in future and click on next.

Step 6: Tap Next from the top-right side and it’s done. Your random email address will be ready for use. You can copy it from the Hide My Email settings when you want to use it.
