Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G coming to India, 4G variant also launching
Redmi Note 11 Pro series is coming to India on March 9. Xiaomi could launch both the 4G and 5G variants.
After the Redmi Note 11 and Redmi Note 11S, Xiaomi is now bringing Redmi Note 11 Pro series to India. The beefed-up versions of the Redmi Note 11 will be announced on March, which is almost a year after the launch of the Redmi Note 10 Pro series. These phones have been launched in global markets already and will now come to India as successors of the Redmi Note 10 Pro and Redmi Note 10 Pro Max. However, Xiaomi is renaming the 5G variant to Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G.
Xiaomi has dropped hints of bringing both the Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G and Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G variants in India. The 5G variant of the Redmi Note 11 Pro is based on the Snapdragon 695 platform. This one also has a unique camera arrangement compared to the 4G variant. Additionally, both the models are offering substantial upgrades over the Redmi Note 10 Pro in terms of performance, cameras, charging speeds, and design.
Redmi Note 11 Pro series features at a glance
The Redmi Note 11 Pro series spawns a 4G and 5G variant for the first time. The 4G variant is essentially an upgraded version of the Redmi Note 11S. It uses the same MediaTek Helio G96 chipset and gets the same 108MP Samsung HM2 sensor for the main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth camera. Even the front camera features a 16MP camera sensor.
However, the display measures 6.67-inches and uses a FHD+ AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz and peak brightness levels of 1200 nits. The battery capacity is limited to 5000mAh and it comes with a 67W fast charging solution. Globally, the phone launched with MIUI 13 based on Android 11.
On the other hand, the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G uses the Snapdragon 695 chip, thereby bumping up the raw performance. This phone also gets a different camera setup – you get the same 108MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP depth camera. There's no fourth camera present on the 5G variant.
What remains to be seen is how Xiaomi goes with the Redmi Note 11 Pro's pricing in India. The Redmi Note 11S starts at Rs. 16,499 and it would be a safe bet to expect the Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G to start from around Rs. 18,999. The Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G variant could start from around Rs. 20,000, thereby replacing the ageing Xiaomi Mi 10i.
