Facebook lowers video quality in Latin America to deal with internet load

Facebook will lower video streaming quality on its platform and on Instagram in Latin America, replicating measures adopted in Europe, to ease network congestion in a region that is starting to feel the grip of the coronavirus.

Twitter ad sales hit by covid-19 pandemic but active users soar

Twitter pulled its first-quarter revenue outlook and forecast an operating loss on Monday as the coronavirus outbreak crimped ad sales, but said the pandemic boosted the number of active users on the microblogging platform.

Disney+ to launch in the UK, European markets with reduced streaming quality amid coronavirus

Disney+ is set to launch in the UK and most major European markets on March 24. However, European subscribers will receive temporarily degraded video quality.

Uber suspends taxi booking services in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia is in virtual lockdown and has suspended regular, accredited taxi services as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
This is the second time the e-commerce giant announced an increase in pay for its workers in a week.

Coronavirus: Amazon raises overtime pay for warehouse workers

Hourly workers at Amazon’s US warehouses will receive double pay after 40 hours for overtime, up from the 1.5-times rate, from March 15 through May 9.
