Redmi Note 12 Pro vs Realme 10 Pro: Prices and Specifications COMPARED!
Redmi Note 12 Pro vs Realme 10 Pro: The battle of the Pro variants that are not the most equipped ones.
The sub-Rs. 25000 segment oversaw two new smartphones that could woo a lot of customers. On one hand, we have the Redmi Note 12 Pro from Xiaomi that launched recently in India. The Redmi Note 12 Pro stands out with a different design in the Note 12 series, a flagship grade Sony camera sensor, a 120Hz AMOLED display, and a fairly capable midrange chipset. Prices, however, are a bit on the higher side and push the Pro variant above Rs. 20000 for the first time.
This is where Realme 10 Pro comes in. Starting at Rs. 18999, the Realme 10 Pro claims to offer the same kind of thrills at a much lower price. The specs are good on paper and that lower price tag may draw a lot of consumers towards itself. The question, therefore, arises for buyers who are willing to spend Rs. 20000 on their next smartphone – which one to pick?
Design
Both phones flaunt a similar iPhone 12-inspired boxy design and edge-to-edge display with minimal bezels. Both phones feature a punch-hole style camera cutout but the rear is where they differ. The Redmi has a glass back that gives it a lead over the plastic back of the Realme 10 Pro.
Display
Another area where the Redmi Note 12 Pro nabs a win. The 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate is superior and the segment best. The Realme 10 Pro has a 6.7-inch 120Hz IPS LCD display that lacks colour vibrancy and brightness the Redmi has to offer.
Chipset
The Dimensity 1080 on the Redmi Note 12 Pro has a slight advantage in terms of raw power when compared to the Snapdragon 695 on the Realme 10 Pro. However, both chips are equally capable in the real world. The Snapdragon 695 is better optimised for power efficiency while the Dimensity 1080 is suited for gaming with its higher CPU clockspeed.
OS
MIUI vs Realme UI! The Realme 10 Pro comes with Android 13 underneath and Realme UI 4.0 is aesthetically pleasing but the bloatware situation is alarming here. MIUI 13 on the Redmi Note 12 Pro has less bloatware and more customisation options to offer but it is based on Android 12 and will be only updated to Android 14 in its lifecycle.
Cameras
We haven't tested these phones yet but both phones should be on par with each other. The Redmi Note 12 Pro has a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The Realme 10 Pro has just a 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM6 and a 2MP portrait camera. The Redmi has an advantage here on paper. Both have 16MP front cameras for selfies.
Battery
While both phones have a 5000mAh battery, the Redmi Note 12 Pro comes with a faster 67W wired charger. The Realme 10 Pro gets a much slower 33W wired charging.
Price
This is where the game goes in Realme's favour. The Realme 10 Pro starts at Rs. 18999 for the base 6GB/128GB variant and goes up to Rs. 18999 for the 8GB/128GB variant.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro, on the other hand, starts at Rs. 24999 for the base 6GB/128GB variant. The 8GB/128GB variant costs Rs. 26999 whereas the 8GB/256GB variant costs Rs. 27999.
Our pick
The Realme 10 Pro is the clear winner here for its sheer value. The Redmi Note 12 Pro with its higher prices is almost a segment above the Realme 10 Pro and competes with the Realme 10 Pro+ instead.
