Samsung TV Plus expands to 12 countries, to be available in India next year
Samsung’s free Smart TV video service will be available in India in 2021. The service offers free access to Live TV and on-demand content.
Samsung on Monday announced that its free Smart TV video service has now expanded to 12 countries. The free video service brings access to 742 channels to more than 60 million Samsung Smart TVs worldwide. Samsung also plans to extend the service to India in 2021.
The countries to that have access to Samsung's ad-supported free Smart TV service are US., Canada, U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Korea, Australia, and Brazil. Next year, it will be available in Mexico, India, Sweden and other European countries.
In case you did not know, Samsung had introduced TV Plus service in 2015. The platform essentially offers access to Live TV and on-demand content through Smart TV platform. It comes pre-installed on new and old (dating back to 2016) on smart TVs. It recently arrived on select Samsung Galaxy devices in the US. The company said Samsung Galaxy device users would get added functionality and additional devices to become available in the coming months.

“TV Plus now partners with around 300 of the world's leading broadcast networks, content platforms and digital creators to provide Samsung Smart TV owners a premium at-home viewing experience. With the new expansion, Samsung continues to add top tier channels and content familiar with TV viewers,” said the company in a blog post.

Samsung TV Plus' US channel lineup includes CBSN, Bloomberg TV+ UHD, Yahoo! Finance, The Lego Channel and more across categories.
Samsung in a separate FAQs page reveals users can watch free TV without requiring a Samsung account. In case, users choose to set up a Samsung account they will get access to extra features for further personalisation of content., Users, however, will need an active internet connection to access the content.
