Players have been anxiously waiting and vociferously demanding BGMI Lite, similar to PUBG Mobile Lite. Even as PUBG Mobile has been replaced by Battlegrounds Mobile India, gamers have been waiting for the BGMI Lite version to arrive. However, there was no word on this from developer Krafton. However, popular BGMI players have reportedly stated that BGMI Lite is likely to arrive on smartphones.

BGMI, the Indian avatar of banned battle royale game PUBG Mobile, has tasted success merely months after it was launched in the country, with over 50 million Battlegrounds Mobile India downloads on the Google Play Store itself. Now, a popular gamer has revealed that BGMI Lite, a version of the PUBG Mobile Lite game that was also banned, will be released in the country, according to reports.

Readers will recall that the BGMI game was launched to replace the PUBG Mobile game in India, but PUBG Mobile Lite, a toned-down version of the game for low-end smartphones, was never released. This means that even today, Indian gamers who have smartphones with lower hardware specifications are unable to play BGMI due to the lack of an official BGMI Lite version for their smartphones. However, according to popular BGMI community members Ghatak and Maxtern, it looks like players might see a BGMI Lite game arrive after all.

Ghatak and Maxtern took to social media to tell users that BGMI Lite could replace the banned PUBG Mobile Lite.

In what will come as a big relief to many gamers who have been waiting over a year since their favourite battle royale game was banned in the country, Abhijeet Andhare (also known as “Ghatak”) revealed on Instagram that BGMI Lite is likely to launch in the country, according to a report by Sportskeeda. “BGMI LITE / PUBG LITE. It will take time but aayega zaroor” the screenshot of the player’s Instagram story reveals.

Ghatak isn’t the only player tweeting about a possible BGMI Lite version coming. Another player Sagar Thakur (also known as “Maxtern”) teased fans by tweeting “BGMI Lite see You soon” on Monday, the report states. While Krafton is yet to make any official announcement, these revelations from prominent players are definitely a good sign that a lighter version of BGMI could be arriving for players, who have been waiting patiently for a replacement for PUBG Mobile Lite on their smartphones.
