How to hide, unhide Instagram likes and view counts

Instagram users can hide and unhide likes and view counts for their posts and others' posts in feed.

Instagram is one of the most widely used social media platforms, especially by youngsters. Instagram allows users to post images, reels, stories, go live, and do several other activities. Every post can be seen by your followers and they can even like and post views on what you have uploaded. Similarly, you can also see Instagram posts from the ones you follow in your feed and like and comment on. The more Instagram likes and views, the more popular is the user.

However, there are instances when Instagram users become more focused on their popularity rather than the content, which they are uploading on the app and this can be seen just by looking at the number of likes and views. In order to avoid an embarrassing situation and make users focus on the content rather than the popularity of the content, well, Instagram provided its users with the option to hide like and view counts on the posts that appear in their feed. However, it can be noted that this setting is not currently available to everyone.

How to hide or unhide Instagram likes and view counts?

You can change whether you see the total number of likes and views on posts that appear in Feed. To hide or unhide like and view counts for others' posts in feed, the following steps can be followed:

Step 1: Tap on your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.

Step 2: Tap more options in the top right, then tap on Settings.

Step 3: Click on Privacy and then tap on Posts.

Step 4: Tap switch off or switch on, available next to Hide like and view counts to turn this setting on or off.

To hide or unhide like and view counts for your posts in feed:

You can also change like and view count settings for posts you share to feed. You will still be able to see the total number of likes and views on your own posts. To hide or unhide like and view counts before sharing your post to feed, here are the steps that can be followed:

Step 1: Before sharing a post, tap Advanced settings at the bottom.

Step 2: Tap switch off or switch on next to Hide like and view counts for videos or Hide like counts for photos to turn this setting on or off.

If you want to hide or unhide the like and view count for a post you have already shared to feed, you can follow the below mentioned steps:

Step 1: Tap on three-dots icon available in the top right side of your post.

Step 2: Tap Hide like counts or Hide like and view counts to turn this setting on.

Step 3: Tap Unhide Like Counts or Unhide like and view counts to turn this setting off.

However, users need to note that these settings only hide like and view counts on posts in the feed. You and others on Instagram will still be able to see likes and view counts in places like the Reels tab.
