Dell Concept Luna wants to do environment friendly computing, more concepts revealed
Dell’s concept Luna will enable users to repair and maintain their laptops at ease. The system aims to reduce the effect of electronics on climate by using hydropower energy.
Dell, on Tuesday, unveiled, concept Luna, a sustainable and recyclable laptop in the Las Vegas conference on Tuesday. The concept is all about reused and recycled laptops that are easy to take apart and fix, making the tech giant's products more sustainable. The “Concept Luna” will have a number of unusual features that will make repair and maintenance easy.
The fewer screws in the system than a typical Dell laptop will reduce the time needed to replace components. Also, the consumers will not have to worry about a fan for cooling down the laptop. The system will feature a shrunken-down motherboard placed in the top cover which will enable the laptop to passively cool itself.
In addition to all these features, the concept is also focused on the climate impact of electronics. The aluminum in the chassis is extracted by using hydropower energy. The motherboard, which is a quarter the size of the board in the Latitude 7300 AE, could have a 50 percent smaller carbon footprint. The three major concepts are - Concept Flow, Concept Pari and Concept Stanza.
Concept Flow intends to provide a personal, seamless transition to productivity as the user moves between locations during the day. This will enable wireless charging technology, intelligent software applications and Wi-Fi 6E docking technology to make transition between spaces frictionless.
Concept Pari is a simple, moveable wireless web camera with special features that will provide users with natural, intuitive experiences to virtual collaboration. It can be placed anywhere like a charging dock, on a stand, allowing the users to make direct eye contact with the people they are speaking with. It will enable easy sharing of additional offscreen content and viewpoints. This small device will feature a microphone and can deliver 1080p video over Wi-Fi. Additionally, its built-in features like a power indicator and vertical indicator light will help with perfect alignment and great angles every time.
Concept Stanza is a thin, light, port-less 11-inch companion device that will make the note-taking process much easier and smarter. Its screen extension functionality, and software features, will make the content retrievable, searchable, and shareable across devices. It is even developed with a pen and mic for transcribing notes.
