3/5 In a series of tweets, the analyst further informed that there will be Taptic Engines located on the internal left and right sides to provide force feedback to make users feel like they are pressing physical buttons. He went on to say that due to this design change, the number of Taptic Engines used in each iPhone will increase from the current one to three. As a result, the existing Taptic Engine suppliers, Luxshare ICT (1st supplier) and AAC Technologies (2nd supplier) will be significant beneficiaries. (AFP)

There is cause for concern for Apple fans as the production of its latest flagships, the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max is expected to take a hit due to the ongoing Covid-19 related lockdowns in China. Those who were intending to buy the phones will likely have to wait.

Although Apple managed to deal with high demand for these smartphones by increasing the production of popular ones, it seems like a new problem has arisen as China tightens its Covid-19 restrictions. Apple announced that, “COVID-19 restrictions have temporarily impacted the primary iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max assembly facility located in Zhengzhou, China. The facility is currently operating at significantly reduced capacity. As we have done throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we are prioritizing the health and safety of the workers in our supply chain.”

The frequent Covid-19 restrictions in China affect Apple's largest iPhone plant, which is located in Zhengzhou, as well as the production of the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The factory is already running at reduced capacity, leading to shipment delays.

Not sure which
mobile to buy?

Apple said, “We continue to see strong demand for iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models. However, we now expect lower iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max shipments than we previously anticipated and customers will experience longer wait times to receive their new products.”

“We are working closely with our supplier to return to normal production levels while ensuring the health and safety of every worker”, the Cupertino-based giant added further.

Although Apple has started manufacturing the iPhone 14 in India, the higher end iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro as well as the iPhone 14 Pro Max are still manufactured at its Zhengzhou plant in China. Currently, China and India are two primary manufacturers of iPhones around the world.
