Motorola launched its foldable display smartphone, the Motorola Razr, last year in November. The phone arrived in India back in March. Now, word is that the company is planning to launch a second generation foldable display smartphone later this year.

Lenovo’s South Africa general manager, Thibault Dousson, in a podcast with Reframed Tech (via Android Authority) said that a version of the company’s foldable display smartphone was on its way. He also said that the device could be launched around September this year.

“There’s a new iteration [of the Razr – ed] coming up. There’s one in September I think, coming up,” the Lenovo executive said 18-minutes into the interview. Later, around 42-minutes into the interview, Dousson a “generation two” foldable phone, aka the second generation Moto Razr.

Motorola hasn’t commented on the matter and there aren’t any reports that would give us a sneak peak into the phone’s details, but now that the cat is out of the hat, we should hear more about Motorola’s upcoming foldable display smartphone soon.

As far as the first generation Moto Razr is concerned, the phone costs 1,24,999 India. It was earlier scheduled to go on sale on April 15. However, the Covid-19 lockdown postponed the sale. It went on sale in India via Flipkart on May 7.
