How to WhatsApp: Join an ongoing group call this way

WhatsApp has provided a number of new benefits for users on group calls. These will ensure that users have all the necessary information even before they join a missed group call.

WhatsApp, back in August this year, had launched a Joinable Group Call feature that enabled users to join even after it had started. At the time, the company had said that this feature would “reduce the burden of answering a group call as it starts, and bring the spontaneity and ease of in-person conversations to group calling on WhatsApp.”

The announcement was made by WhatsApp via a post on its official Twitter handle. “Need to pop in and out of a group call? This post was accompanied by a video that demonstrated the change that the Facebook-owned messaging app was bringing to its Joinable Video Calling feature.

You will also see the call information that will show you details such as who has joined the call and who is yet to join the call before joining the call -- just in case you decide to change your mind. WhatsApp, in the video, also noted that the call notification will now display the name of the group instead of the participants’ names. The ongoing call is shown in the chat list, which makes it easier for WhatsApp users to see which groups have live calls as soon as they open the app.
