Independence Day is just around the corner and to celebrate the occasion, Snapchat has rolled out its latest Landmarker lens for the historic India Gate in Delhi. A first for Delhi, this lens will allow Snapchatters to deck up the landmark monument with tricolours to mark the national occasion. The Landmarker lens is powered by Snapchat's AR technology and helps brings the iconic monument to life right on your smartphone and you can share it with friends and family via the app. While this is the first Landmarker lens for Delhi, it is the third for India from Snapchat

To be able to experience what this lens can do, all you need to do is to be around the Landmarker (the India Gate monument in the heart of the city) and Snapchatters will be notified to point their camera at the monument. Once you do so, you'll see India Gate decorated with the tricolour on your smartphone screens. You can then take a snap and send it to everyone you want. However, make sure you are careful when you step out, keep those masks on, and don't crowd any place.

If you are heading out and are going to be around India Gate, this is what you need to do.

“We are always looking for ways to add features that resonate with Indian Snapchatters and this Independence Day we have created an array of experiences for our community that are exciting and immersive. Snap's Landmarker Lenses enable augmented reality experiences that can transform the world's most iconic landmarks in real-time. Landmarker for India Gate in Delhi marks Snapchat's third Landmarker Lens in India after The Gateway of India in Mumbai and the Taj Mahal in Agra. Snapchat's strategy remains focused on deepening the culturally and locally relevant experience for Indian users through product developments, creative tools, community engagement and partnerships,” Durgesh Kaushik, Head of Market Development, India at Snap Inc. said.

Snapchat has also rolled out other lenses that can be used from the comfort of your homes to celebrate India's Independence Day. Snapchatters can also get creative and share on Spotlight with the #MeraBharatMahan hashtag. As Snapchat puts it - this is an opportunity for everyone to share what India means to them in their own unique way.
