Acer branded smart TVs launch in India: The company will soon be entering the smart TV space in India under a licensing agreement with Bengaluru-based Indkal Technologies. Acer, famous for its computer hardware and accessories, hasn't shared the exact details of the deal. Furthermore, the Acer brand is yet to reveal information about its upcoming TV series. As of now, we only know that the panel sizes of the TV models will range from 32-inch to 70-inch. As per the release, these upcoming smart TVs will be sold through e-commerce websites in India. However, their offline availability has not been confirmed yet.

Acer already makes a wide range of products including desktops, laptops, smartphones, tablets, monitors, gaming accessories, and more. Acer brand is now looking to spread its wings in a new segment in India with the launch of its smart TVs.

Indkal Technologies has partnered with Acer to launch the Acer branded Smart TV segment in India. Moreover, it will launch a slew of TV models that include variants ranging from 32-inch to 70-inch. These are expected to .hit the market in September and will be sold through Amazon and Flipkart. We await for more information to be made official by the company.

For the unaware, Indkal Technologies specialises in development, distribution, and support for consumer electronics and smart devices in India. It focuses on televisions and home displays. The TVs that will be sold under the Acer brand will be developed by Indkal.

If you are wonder about the licensing agreement in the smart TV space, we must tell you that it isn't new. For instance, smart TVs from Nokia and Motorola are licensed from Flipkart. The e-commerce site alongside Amazon have their own brands as well. The latter uses its Amazon Basics brand to make and sell a host of products including TVs. However, the actual manufacturer is unknown. Additionally, the license for Kodak and Blaupunkt smart TVs in India is held by Noida-based Super Plastronics.
