Apple TV will get a major update in 2021: Here’s what it is
The report says that the sixth-generation Apple TV will get a major upgrade with a strong focus on gaming. In addition to that, it will get a new processor and a better remote.
Apple has big plans for 2021. While some of these plans include upping the production of the iPhones by 30%, others include releasing a new and updated version of the Apple TV set-top box.
As per a report by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is planning to launch an updated version of its Apple TV set-top-box. The report says that the sixth-generation Apple TV will get a major upgrade with a strong focus on gaming. In addition to that, it will get a new processor and a better remote.
Apple launched the fifth-generation Apple TV back in September 2017. It is yet to launch a successor to the device yet, especially in light of advancements it has made in its own chip technology and the launch of its Apple TV+ streaming service in 2019. Now, word is that the company will launch a new and updated Apple TV in 2021 that will remain competitive in the market in the long term, just like the older generations of the device.

Notably, this is not the first time that we are hearing about a new streaming device by Apple. Earlier this month, a report by Nikkei has also hinted towards the company launching the next-generation Apple TV in 2021. In addition to that, noted tipster Jon Prosser has also hinted towards the same.
That said, Apple hasn't commented on the matter yet. So, for now all we can do is keep our fingers crossed and hope that Apple's 2021 lineup holds something interesting for the Apple TV.
