People are watching more content online than ever. Xiaomi is looking to ride on the trend with the latest update to its smart TVs that brings a new curated content selection on the home screen.

Called “Collections”, the new section is available through PatchWall, Xiaomi's custom OS for its smart TVs. The interface for Collections is quite similar to Instagram Stories with circular icons. The section appears in between “recently added” and “Live news” on the home screen.

“Launched Collections on PatchWall! One place to check out the best curated movies across Genres, Actors, etc.. The curated list has movies for everyone! Mi Fans - hope you like this feature!!,” wrote Xiaomi's Eshwar in a tweet.

The Collections on Xiaomi's Mi TVs currently feature topics such as “Binge List”, “Movie Crushes”, “Re-runs”, “Best of Khans”, “Doomsday List”, and “Retro Movies” among others. Clicking on these topics will show you a list of movies/TV series from different platforms available on the Patchwall. For instance, My Name is Khan via Disney+Hotstar.

The new update comes shortly after the company announced a partnership with Sony Liv. With this, Sony Liv will bring all its content such as The Kapil Sharma show, Aladdin, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah to the Mi TVs. Xiaomi already has a big catalogue of content partners such as Disney+Hotstar, Amazon Prime Video, Zee5 and more.
