Xiaomi is slated to launch a new streaming product called the “Mi TV Stick”. It was revealed during a product briefing in Germany and has also been listed on a Chinese e-commerce site. Xiaomi hasn’t announced the launch for Mi TV Stick as yet.
Mi TV Stick was part of a briefing for the Redmi Note 9 series in Germany, as reported by WinFuture. The Mi TV Stick looks like the Amazon Fire TV stick, and it comes with a remote as well. There’s a Google Assistant button on top of the remote along with dedicated buttons for Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
Specs for the Mi TV Stick weren’t revealed but it is expected to run on Android 9 Pie. It is also said to feature a USB Port and a microSD card slot for storage expansion. The Mi TV Stick which could launch in the European market first could be priced at 80 Euros ( ₹6,700 approx).
This would be the second streaming device from Xiaomi after having launched the Mi Box 4K recently in India. Priced at ₹3,499, the Mi Box 4K basically turns a regular TV into a smart one with support for OTT platforms, apps like YouTube and more.
It also comes with support for 4K content, HDR 10, Dolby Audio and DTS 2.0 digital out. The Mi Box also has Chromecast built-in and Google Assistant for voice support.
The Mi TV Stick is expected to come with similar features like the Mi Box. It would be however more portable as it can be plugged directly into the TV.Tags: Xiaomi
